Discover-e. What's in it for you?
Discover-e is our free, two day, online conference and is nearly upon us - taking place on 17th and 18th May. If you haven't booked yet, please do so here.
This year's agenda offers an even wider range of sessions, using Moodle and the Web conferencing tool, Elluminate. As well as the formal sessions, there are also several chances to win a prize, by joining in some of the competitions - the more you take part, the better your chance of winning!
You are welcome to take part in as many of the activities as you wish, but I'd like to highlight a few sessions, which may be of particular interest to library and LRC staff:
17th May, 3:30-4:30 JISC Digital Media: Introduction to screencasting
Screencasting is a great way to explain how to use resources such as library catalogues and e-resource databases effectively - JISC Digital Media will be explaining how it's done.
18th May 11:15-12:15
Moving centre-stage: placing your library or LRC at the heart of teaching and learning
In this session, 3 speakers from East and West Midlands Colleges explore how they're achieving this aim; delegates will also be exploring their own tips and ideas.
12:15-1:15 Making the most of the JISC Collections, update and Q&A
Anna Vernon of JISC Collections will be updating us on the latest resources from JISC and sharing promotional tips for the JISC e-books; there will also be ample time to submit your own queries to Anna
